Welcome to the Philomath Area Chamber of Commerce
Chamber Forum Luncheon
Our next Chamber Forum is Thursday, October 16th, from noon to 1 pm. Our guest speaker is Jordan Meekins, President of Accessing Oregon. Jordan is a disabled Oregonian who has struggled for many years to find accessible employment, transportation, fitness activities, goods & services, hunting, fishing, camping and outdoor adventuring in Oregon. In his struggles he has found that there are many barriers for individuals with disabilities in Oregon, many of which are violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). But the board at Accessing Oregon feels that there has to be a better way to promote accessibility while creating beneficial relationships between business owners, governmental agencies, charitable organizations, and individuals with disabilities rather than litigation They promote alternative and cost effective methods to provide individuals with access to all facilities indoor and outdoor through adapting private and public businesses, pathways, entrances, workspaces, vehicles, wheelchairs, tools, restrooms, and any major barrier in order to achieve equal access for EVERYONE in Oregon.
The cost of the luncheon is $10. Please RSVP to director@philomathchamber or call (541) 929-2454.
**New Location**Chamber Forum Luncheons are held the third Thursday of each month from noon to 1:00 pm at Peace Lutheran Church at 2540 Applegate Street in Philomath.
