John Hardy to retire - Philomath Gleaners
July, 2008 John Hardy is coordinator of the Philomath Gleaners, a division of the Philomath Community Services. He has successfully organized the Gleaners into an efficient and well run department with loyal, hard working volunteers and happy customers. The Board of Directors of the Philomath Community Services has been thrilled with the work John has been doing for the Philomath community. Ill health is forcing John to relinquish his leadership position with the Gleaners. It is now time for another ambitious volunteer to step up and help guide the Gleaners. Both John and the Board of Directors are anxious to assist the next coordinator. So, you can contact the Philomath Community Services president, Jeff Lamb at jefflamb02@peak.org (453-4041) or John Hardy at 929-3685 to offer your services for this position. Asks for Support this Holiday Season Donations down 40% - USDA cuts funding by 50% This week, the Philomath Food Bank seemed filled with food, but “in a month these shelves will be pretty empty,” said Dot Richardson, the organization’s manager. Jeff Lamb, president of Philomath Community Services, said donations to the organization were down 40 percent this year, but the nonprofit is helping more people. “We’re here every week, doing what we can,” he said.

CORVALLIS GAZETTE-TIMES
OPINION April 30, 2007 Philomath's Chamber of Commerce continues to work very hard for the community after nearly 35 years of proven service. The Chamber's main purpose is to support the business owners that in turn support Philomath. The businesses do that by employing our citizens, paying taxes, and supporting our schools along with the many volunteer service clubs and organizations that make Philomath such a great community to live in.
